US, EU to 'ratchet up pressure on Russia' after phone call revealed Moscow behind Mariupol massacre

United States Presidnet Barack Obama has said that the U.S. would work with the European Union to "ratchet up the pressure on Russia" as a response to Mariupol massacre after Ukraine said that it had evidence through an intercepted phone call that proved Moscow was behind the violence.

Accoridng to News.com.au, an emergeny meeting of minister in Europe has been called following the fighitng in eastern Ukraine.

Ukriane said that the intercepted phone call reveals that the the Russian-backed militia in Ukraine's south-eastern port of Mariupol was responsible for the rocket attack that killed 30 civilians and injured 100 others.

Britian's foreign minister Philip Hammond condemned the attack.

 

Ukraine blamed pro-Russia rebels, but the separatists said Ukrainian forces were behind the attacks.
