Controversial Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade has been reportedly re-indicted on US visa fraud charges by a US grand jury.
Khobragade was detained in New York in December on suspicion of visa fraud and making false statements, after being accused of paying her Indian maid below the US minimum wage.
According to the BBC, the re-indictment comes two days after a US judge threw out virtually identical charges on the grounds that Khobragade had diplomatic immunity.
However, the ruling had also pointed that since Khobragade no longer possessed diplomatic status or immunity, the prosecution was free to pursue a new indictment in the future.
