ANI London

United States President Barack Obama has said that the US does not have a "complete strategy" in Iraq against Islamic State (IS) to help the country regain its territory.

According to the BBC, Obama claimed that the Pentagon has been reconsidering ways to equip its forces and help Iraq.

The 53-year-old president also said that a complete commitment from Iraqi forces was required in the process.

IS militants have recently made gains in Iraq in spite of the US-led coalition airstrikes.

IS has seized the capital of Anbar, Ramadi, Syrian town of Tadmur and the neighbouring ancient ruins of Palmyra.
