U.S. lawmakers have expressed security concerns at the upcoming Sochi Olympics, as a video has surfaced threatening the games.

Top Capitol Hill lawmakers expressed concerns about terror attacks at the games that will be held in Russia amid nearby terror attacks.

According to Fox News, Russian President Vladimir Putin however assured that his country will 'do whatever it takes' to protect athletes and visitors, acknowledging that the games, like any high-profile event, could be a target for terrorists.

Texas Republican Mike McCaul, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, told ABC's 'This Week', that the threats over Sochi Games are real.

In the video, posted on a well-known Jihadi forum website, two young men believed to have been suicide bombers in last month's back-to-back bombings in the Russian city of Volgograd speak of those attacks and make an ominous promise, the report said.

The men are dressed in black and stand in front of a black banner with religious verse that is typically associated with al Qaeda-linked extremists, it added.
