Ruby Dee has died due to natural causes at the age of 91.
The American actress and civil rights activist succumbed to natural causes at her home in New York, the BBC reported.
According to Contactmusic, the Broadway community has decided to honor the Emmy-winning actress by dimming the lights outside the Great White Way's theatres for a minute.
The executive director of the Broadway League said that Audra McDonald and Kenny Leon paid tribute to Dee during their acceptance speeches at the Tony Awards.
