American composer Jake Heggie has turned sad stories of the survivors from the 9-11 attack into songs.

Heggie's album, 'here/after (songs of lost voices),' also features some surprisingly joyous songs, Fox News reported.

The musician said that the album is meant to create a feeling of hope in the hearts of the listeners.

Other 9/11-related songs, featured in the album, express thoughts about lost loved ones as they sort the belongings that are left behind.

Grammy award-winning songwriter Gene Scheer has used the words of real people, who shared whimsical stories about their dead spouses, fathers and friends, for the lyrics.

The album, which will be released in October, has one set of songs called 'Pieces of 9-11'.
