NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden has revealed that US spy programme targeted Chinese servers among others worldwide.
According to CNN, this revelation came in the light of past incidents when US openly criticized Chinese servers for attacking US systems including those related to the defence property.
Recently, US president Barack Obama in his summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping warned the leader about the cyber attacks carried on the US systems by Chinese servers and its potential to harm the bilateral ties between the nations.
China denied having conducted any such attacks and instead called itself to be a victim of cyber threats.
According to the report, Snowden claimed that out of 61,000 reported targets of the NSA, thousands were Chinese servers as US claimed them to be behind attacks on US military and commercial networks.
However, the documents provided by Snowden could not be verified for authenticity likewise the allegations by US about hacking originating from Hong Kong and mainland China have not been verified either, the report added.
