United States President Donald Trump on Monday took to Twitter, stating that their attempts to deal with North Korea have failed for more than two decades inspite of the fact that America has given "billions of dollars" and received nothing in return.
"Our country has been unsuccessfully dealing with North Korea for 25 years, giving billions of dollars & getting nothing. Policy didn't work," Trump tweeted.
Recently in an interview to media, President Trump had said 'he inherited a mess' and North Korea nuclear issue should have been handled 25 years ago and also termed the Obama-era Iran pact not in US interests.
"North Korea should have been handled 25 years ago or 10 years ago. It should have been handled during the Obama administration. The truth is, I was handed a mess. Not only there, I was handed a mess in the Middle East. Just a total mess," CNN quoted President Trump as saying in an extensive interview.
On July 4, North Korea conducted its first test of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), which it claims could reach "anywhere in the world."In September 2017, North Korea carried out its sixth nuclear test, this time detonating what it claimed was a hydrogen bomb.
