The Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives has reportedly voted to retain restrictions on American citizens travelling to Cuba, despite a recent thaw in ties.
While rejecting proposals to permit regular scheduled flights to the Caribbean nation, the House also called for a rule that would require Americans to get a special licence before going to Cuba, reported the BBC.
They were voting on a transport funding bill which has provisions related to Cuba. U.S. President Barack Obama has threatened to veto the bill.
The Obama administration had eased travel restrictions to Cuba in January, allowing scheduled flights for the first time.
The president announced a historic thaw in relations between the two countries in December, ending a five decade-long standoff.
