United States authorities have sought a formal extradition request for former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner on corruption charges, the Trinidad and Tobago's attorney general has confirmed.
Garvin Nicholas said that his office would examine the documents from the US justice department to decide whether to take the extradition matter before a magistrate, the Guardian reported.
Warner, who is resisting extradition from Trinidad and Tobago, is scheduled to re-appear before a court on 27 July.
Warner, who is currently out on bail, has been accused of receiving 10million dollars in bribe from South Africa for supporting its successful bid to host the 2010 World Cup.
