American skier Lindsey Vonn claimed her 60th World Cup victory in just her second race back after almost a year out due to injury.
The four-time overall World Cup champion won the downhill at Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada, in a time of one minute 50.48 seconds, nearly half a second quicker than her USA teammate Stacey Cook, with another American, Julia Mancuso, in third.
Vonn, who has had a shin fracture and two knee operations in the past two years, said that she fought so hard to be back where she is, at the top of the podium, The BBC reported.
The skier said that it means the world to her and it's just unbelievable, claiming that it's like a dream day.
In her comeback race on Friday, Vonn finished eighth, also in a downhill race, nearly a second down on race winner Tina Maze. She would continue her comeback in Sunday's Super-G, the report added.
