Injured Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has been replaced by Usman Khan Shinwari in the 15-member squad for the upcoming five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, beginning October 13 in the UAE.
Amir, who has been an automatic selection for Pakistan in all three formats of the game since his return, had hurt his right shin and returned to the dressing room towards the close of play on Friday during the ongoing second Test of the two-match series at the Dubai Cricket Stadium.
The left-arm pacer has now been advised two to three weeks rest after he underwent an MRI scan following complaints of pain in his right shin.
Shinwari, who has appeared in a total of four T20Is since his debut in 2013, has been on the national selectors' radar for the past two years,ESPNcricinfo reported.
Having missed a major chunk of the 2014-15 season, Shinwari has bagged a total of 44 wickets in 12 first-class matches he played.
Shanwari, who is yet to play ODI or Test cricket, has also been an integral part of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Karachi Kings and has also been retained by the team for the third season of the tournament.
