Uttar Pradesh: Minor girl dies after being gangraped, set ablaze

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped and set ablaze before later succumbing to her injuries in the Jewar area of the Gautam Buddha Nagar District of Uttar Pradesh.

The incident took place on Saturday morning, after which the minor was rushed to a local hospital and then referred to a hospital in Delhi, where she died.

"When I found the girl, she was on fire. I got a blanket to cover her and then rushed her to the hospital. Nobody was at home when the incident happened," a relative of the victim's said.

The relative has also accused four people of the crime.

 

"They had made an MMS of the girl and were blackmailing her to give them money," she said.

The victim's father said that she had already given Rs. 10,000 to the accused and they were asking for more.

"My daughter told me everything last night and when the four of them found out, they came to blackmail her in the morning and all this happened. I am a labourer and had gone to work at the time," he said.

Meanwhile, the police have stated that all four accused have been arrested.

"The police only got information today and have arrested the four accused," a senior police officer said.
