Uttarakhand: Bageshwar gets 5kw FM relay transmitter

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Saturday inaugurated a 5KW FM relay transmitter with Limited Studio Facility in Bageshwar, Uttarakhand.

Its operating frequency is 101.5 MHz. It will reach distances upto about 30 KM and about 1.5 lakhs people in the region are expected to be benefitted by broadcast from this setup.

This station was approved under 10th plan scheme. The station with limited studio facilities has C-Band receiving terminal and has DTH facility too.

At present AIR Bageshwar will relay the programmes of AIR, Almora and local originated programmes will be introduced in future.

Earlier, Rathore had laid the foundation stone of 10KW FM Transmitter for All India Radio's new FM set up in Meerut.

 

Scheme for setting up of 10 KW AIR FM Station with Limited Studio Facility at Meerut has been approved in 12th plan schemes of AIR at the cost of Rs. 7.94 crore. Transmitter and associated equipment are under procurement. It is likely to take about two years for completion of the project.
