The general elections is taking interesting turns, with the latest one being a three-star hotel owner in Vadodara, Gujarat, who has revamped the decor and menu of his hotel with a focus on the need to vote for a better India.

The walls of the hotel have posters that encourage people to vote, while the menu has been printed with catchy messages on whom to vote for.

Hotelier Honey Trivedi said it was his small contribution to the nation.

"You may have seen that during festivals how the restaurants are decorated, but elections happen only once in five years, and no one considers voting awareness important enough. So, it struck me that I should do something about it, and accordingly, I have designed my menu so that customers get to know more about voting," he said.

Trivedi's competitors have also started refurbishing their interiors, some with similar themes in a bid to attract customers.

Given Gujarat's mixed culture, hotels, shops and markets promote theme based decor from time to time to attract more customers and earn a quick buck.

"I think this is a very unique concept, and more such steps should be encouraged. It is a nice initiative that should be continued in the future as well," said Diksha, a customer.
