Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal says he is optimistic about retaining the services of Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea at the club.
Van Gaal's remark assumes importance in the wake of rumours of Real Madrid saying that it would be interested in signing De Gea, who has one more season left on his contract at Old Trafford, reports the BBC.
De Gea, who has been voted as Manchester United's player of the season, is in contention to start the final match of the season at Hull on Sunday despite the hamstring injury he suffered against the Gunners.
