Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has described himself as one of the world's 'best' manager despite the Old Trafford club still struggling to make a top-four Premier League finish.
United have made their place to the FA Cup final after claiming a 2-1 victory over Everton and will now meet Crystal palace in the summit showdown, but they are still trailing by four points from fourth-placed Manchester City in the Premier League.
Insisting that he is unaffected by the constant criticism levelled against him, the Dutchman said that the criticisms are not new for him and that he could easily cope with them, Sport24 reported.
The 64-year-old also stressed that the expectations are too high with United especially when they are still in a period of transition.
Van Gaal's job has been under scrutiny following the club's inconsistent performance in this season's Premier League and due to their early exit from the Champions League.
Meanwhile, former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has also been heavily linked to take over at Old Trafford.

Branding himself as an 'arrogant' manager, Van Gaal stressed that if the media were correct about his future then he would have been sacked months ago.
He further pointed out that making a top-four Premier League finish still remains a priority for him, but added that his players should be applauded for their spirited fight back during the season.
United will now aim to qualify for the next year's Champions League when they take on Norwich City in their second last league clash on Saturday.
