Manchester United football team manager Louis van Gaal is reportedly set to go for two Dutch stars from his Netherlands World Cup squad with a double swoop for Nigel de Jong and Daley Blind before the transfer window closes.
Van Gaal wants to strengthen his United squad by signing two members of his Dutch World Cup squad. It had been earlier reportedly revealed that former Manchester City midfielder De Jong was a 10 million pounds target for the Dutchman.
The AC Milan hardpan is the holding midfielder the United boss is seeking. Van Gaal currently has four midfielders injured Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Marouane Fellaini and Jesse Lingard, The Daily Star reported.
That prompted Van Gaal to admit that United are thin in midfield. And despite signing Argentina defender Marcos Rojo from Sporting Lisbon, the Dutch boss still wants Ajax's Blind.
Blind, who can operate as an orthodox left back, as a wingback or at the centre of the defence, is valued at 16 million pounds, the report added.
