Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has backed Ryan Giggs to be his successor after the Dutchman's stint at the Old Trafford ends.
Giggs, the club's former midfielder, was appointed Van Gaal's assistant last year after taking charge of the first team for four matches as an interim coach last season following the sacking of David Moyes.
Van Gaal said he expects that Giggs would be the next manager after his contract with the club ends in 2017, the BBC reported.
The Dutchman further said that the Welshman has tasks that he has to perform like the players do, insisting that for him Giggs does his job very well.
Giggs, who made a record 963 appearances for the club as a player, won two, drew one and lost one during his brief time in charge.
