Manchester United striker Robin van Persie and Old Trafford legend Phil Neville have reportedly sent their young sons to join the training academy of their club's archrivals Manchester City.
United's poor season turned boss David Moyes' week from bad to worse with Shaqueel van Persie and Harvey Neville, both aged 11, allegedly signing up with Manchester City's academy to train.
According to Metro.co.uk, despite United's proud history of promoting youngsters, it looks as though both Van Persie and Neville have questioned Moyes' ability to develop young players if speculations of their sons joining City's youth set-up prove to be correct
The report come after Everton's under-18 squad manager Kevin Sheedy allegedly attacked Moyes' youth policies on Twitter, though he later deleted his posts following United's 3-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Sheedy is believed to have tweeted that for Moyes had never been 'interested' in Everton's youth team or players in the seven years he was at the club, the report added.
