Former England captain Michael Vaughan has said that he would worry immensely if Jonny Bairstow keeps the wicket in the first Ashes Test at the Gabba.

According to the BBC, Vaughan pointed out that he would not put Bairstow in the top five keepers in England.

Matt Prior, 31, has played 57 consecutive Test matches for England, having missed the fourth match against West Indies in February 2009 following the birth of his child, the report said.

Bairstow, Yorkshire's first-choice wicketkeeper, has played 12 Test matches but is yet to keep in the longest form of the game, the report added.

Vaughan said that he questioned the decision as soon as the squad was selected and he does not think Bairstow has done enough of it to withstand the pressure of an Ashes series, keeping wicket.
