Venezuela says yet to hear from whistleblower Snowden on asylum offer

Venezuelan foreign minister Elias Jaua reportedly said that NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden is yet to reply to the asylum offer.

According to Fox News, Jaua said that the government has had no contact with Snowden who is still holed up at Moscow airport's transit area.

Venezuelan president Nicolas Maduro had offered 'humanitarian asylum' to Snowden who has been charged with violation of the espionage act.

Russian lawmaker, Alexei Pushkov had sparked confusion with his tweet on Tuesday which read that Snowden has accepted the Venezuelan asylum offer, but later deleted the tweet

Meanwhile, WikiLeaks website said that Snowden has 'not yet formally accepted the asylum offer', the report added.
