Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Tariq Anwar on Sunday lashed out at the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) over its patron Ashok Singhal's remark that India would be a 'Hindu' nation by 2020 and said that latter is disrupting the secular atmosphere of the country.
"There are different religions, languages and castes our country. The key to keeping this diversity together is secularism. Anyone who wants to disrupt secular atmosphere of the country are not patriots. Whether it is VHP or RSS, they are disrupting the secular atmosphere of the country," Anwar told ANI here.
Singhal sparked another controversy on Saturday by saying that India would be a 'Hindu' nation by 2020.
"I was at the Sai Baba Ashram where Sai Baba told me by 2020 the entire country will be Hindu and 2030 the entire world will be Hindu. I feel that revolution has started," he said at a function in the national capital.
