President Pranab Mukherjee, who was on a four-day state visit to Vietnam recently, has said that Vietnam and India both favour greater trade and investment partnership.
Speaking to reporters while returning home from Vietnam, President Mukherjee said Vietnam has promised to provide a favourable environment for further investments from India.
He said his visit to that country would give a fresh impetus and momentum to the bilateral strategic partnership and provide stability to the region.
Referring to the ONGC Videsh signing an agreement with PetroVietnam, he reiterated India's stand that any dispute between maritime countries should be resolved through a peaceful dialogue within the purview of the International law.
During his state visit, President Mukherjee met and interacted with the Vietnamese leadership.

The two governments have inked seven agreements, which will increase investments, people-to-people contacts and improve strategic partnership in various fields.
In a joint statement issued at the conclusion of the visit, the presidents of the two countries favoured free navigation in the disputed waters of the South China Sea and expressed their strong commitment towards resolving all disputes through peaceful dialogue within the purview of International laws.
President Mukherjee also visited several places of historic and cultural importance in Hanoi and the historic Hochi Minh City.
He also visited several historic places, including the Cu Chi tunnels and the War Remnants Museum.
