Delighted to welcome Vietnam Prime Minister, Nguyen Tan Dung, on his second state visit to India, President Pranab Mukherjee said on Tuesday he is confident that this visit will further consolidate the special relationship shared by India and Vietnam.

He said that it will open up new areas of mutual assistance, cooperation and collaboration between the two countries.

President Mukherjee was happy that the Vietnamese Prime Minister is accompanied by large delegation of business leaders.

Pleased with his visit to Vietnam last month, President Mukherjee hoped that Dung's visit to Holy town of Bodh Gaya and the Mahabodhi Temple was successful.

"Buddhism symbolises the shared cultural heritage of the peoples of India and Vietnam," Mukherjee said.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister warmly reciprocated the President's sentiments and said Vietnam was keen to work with India in taking the relationship to greater heights.
