Vin Diesel has opened up about the torture he faced after losing his best mate and co-star of 13 years Paul Walker, saying it was "traumatic."

The 47-year old actor admitted that going back to the sets of 'Fast and Furious 7' broke him down and he was prepared to never look at his character Dominic Toretto again, the Daily Telegraph reported.

The production on the latest 'Fast and Furious' franchise was delayed for four months after Walker died in a single-car accident in November,2013. Diesel said that though he had been acting his whole life, it was very difficult for him to pretend being with someone, for whose loss he was mourning in real life.

Diesel asserted that he soon realized his responsibility towards his brother, Walker, to protect his legacy that he had co-created.

Chris Morgan, the screenwriter did a good job of interweaving the film's themes with the meta-narrative of Walker's death. It was difficult to complete the shoot and so Walker's brothers, Caleb and Cody, agreed to appear as stand-ins and in some scenes, the late actor's face was digitally grafted on to their bodies.

Diesel said he was proud of the celluloid send-off given to Walker, who was 40. He also named his daughter Pauline, after the late actor's name.
