Vinod Mehta had a 'unique personality': Rajyavardhan Rathore

Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore on Sunday condoled the demise of Vinod Mehta and said that the veteran journalist had a unique personality.

"He had a unique personality and probably that's why people have come from different parties and newspaper," said Rathore.

"He had his own views and thinking and whenever he came on TV he was always successful in getting all the attention He was a part of journalism for more than 50 years," he added.

Earlier in the day, leaders across the political spectrum united and expressed their grief at Mehta's demise, attending his funeral to pay their respects to the memory of the former editor chairman of the Outlook India magazine.

 

Mehta passed away in the early hours of the day after prolonged illness. He was one of the most influential editors and had launched a number of successful publications such as the Sunday Observer, Indian Post, The Independent and The Pioneer (Delhi edition).
