'Violence has no place in democracy': Raghubar Das

The Jharkhand CM's statement followed an encounter of 12 Maoists by the police in Palamu district of the state last night

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Tuesday said that violence has no place in a democracy over the encounter of 12 Maoists by the police in Palamu district of the state last night.

"Violence has no place in a democracy; any revolution across world was brought by movements. I request all those who have lost their paths to come forward and stage a dharna to keep their issues in front of the government. Also, I would like to express my gratitude for the police who have fulfilled its responsibility in maintaining law and order," said Das.
 

 

 

Over 12 Maoists were killed in an ambush late near Bakoria Village in the border area of Palamu and Latehar Districts of Jharkhand last night.

Acting on the tip off, the police surrounded the area where the Maoists were moving towards the village in a vehicle.

Police has sealed the area and the search operation is on to nab the other.
