Visa-on-Arrival facilities for Chinese nationals in India planned

The Government of India is planning to introduce Visa-on-Arrival services for the Chinese nationals.

Tourism Minister K. Chiranjeevi said China is among 30 countries for which his Ministry wants Visa-on- Arrival facility as Beijing has a huge potential for exchanges in the sector.

He said the aim is to ensure that India has at least one per cent share in the international tourist arrivals, which is about 0.64 per cent.

Chiranjeevi said the proposal has to be cleared by the Home Ministry.

Under Visa-on-Arrival facility, a traveler can go straight to the intended country and get visa at the airport itself.

Currently, India has extended Visa on Arrival facilities to 11 countries including Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, Vietnam and Philippines.
