Vivid colours of autumn in Japan's Yokohama city

It's autumn in Japan and the leaves of trees reflect the vivid colors of nature.

"Sankeien Garden" is a traditional Japanese garden located in Yokohama City in Japan's Kanagawa Prefecture. The autumn leaves are now in full colour and bloom.

The garden is extremely spacious and contains several traditional Japanese houses, old architecture, historically high-value buildings, along with natural trees and waterside. Tourists can see the seasonal Japanese landscape there.

In autumn, the leaves of trees such as Maple and Ginkgo are colored red or yellow, and one can enjoy the traditional Japanese autumn landscape.

It is a very popular place to enjoy autumn.

 

A Japanese visitor said, "The weather is nice today, and the autumn leaves park is beautiful, so I'm happy to come here this autumn."

Toshikazu Yoshikawa, an official of the Sankeien Garden, said, "Yokohama is a big city. And if you want to get away from the city you can easily come here, and immediately you will find yourself at the heart of nature. Everyone who comes here gets pleased so much and decides to stay longer time to enjoy the historical structures, autumn leaves etc. in a relaxed mood. There are many very great reviews from abroad, and we realize that it is highly evaluated."

The garden has popular shooting spots including the historic Japanese houses and promenades along the little valleys.

A lot of photographers visit the place to take pictures of traditional Japanese houses with autumn leaves, and beautiful autumn leaves scattered under the sunlight coming through the trees along the promenade.

A visitor from The Philiippines said, "Actually this is the first time for me to see these leaves because in Philippines there is no autumn or winter so I think it's a great opportunity to see this garden."

"In the Garden there are brochures in foreign language, translation service by QR code, and you can use free Wi-Fi. Also you can learn more about the Sankeien Garden from the volunteer English speaking guides who walk around the garden to help foreign visitors," Yoshikawa said.

The autumn season lasts for about a month. After that, the garden gradually changes to winter scenery.

Yokohama City has an Instagram account with the name "Find your Yokohama", where photos of the Sankeien Garden are posted.
