VK Singh refuses to answer questions on army chief appointment, says read my tweets and approach MoD

Singh has refused to say anything on statements made by him on army chief's appointment and advised the media to ask Ministry of Defence (Mod) instead.

When the media confronted Singh on the controversy that has been raked following

his tweets on the appointment of Lt Gen Dalbir Singh Suhag as the new Army Chief,

he said, "Ask MoD about this,dont ask me.I am not saying anything, read my tweet

you will come to know the issue."

In a direct attack on Lt Gen Dalbir Singh, who has incidentally been given a

go-ahead by Defence Minister Arun Jaitley to take over as the Army Chief on July

 

31, General V.K. Singh had tweeted yesterday; "If unit kills innocents, does

dacoity and then head of organization tries to protect them, should he not be

blamed? Criminals should go free!!"

"MOD affidavit same as it gave to AFT under protective and conniving UPA, so what

is new folks?"

His tweets has generated a furore within political circles leading to the

opposition gunning for his resignation.
