Vladimir Putin officially announced his divorce from his wife Lyudmila after attending a ballet with her.
The couple decided to end their marriage just two months before their 30th anniversary, Fox news reported.
The Thursday evening started out with the Russian President taking his wife to the ballet like a devoted husband.
But after the performance of "Esmeralda" at the Great Kremlin Palace, the two came into a luxurious room to interact to a reporter.
When the reporter asked about the rumors that the two didn't live together, Putin said smiling that it is so.
The reporter then questioned if they meant divorce, to which Lyudmila replied that it is a civilized divorced.
Tabloid reports in 2008 claimed that Putin had already had divorced Lyudmila and planned to marry a gymnast less than half his age.
