Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Uma Shankar Gupta on Monday alleged that senior advocate Vivek Tankha is falling into the 'trap' of the Congress over the Vyapam scam death issue and added that a proper probe is going on in the case.

"It is extremely unfortunate that senior lawyers like Vivek Tankha are falling in the trap of the Congress. We would like to assure you that a proper probe is going on in the case," said Gupta.

Tankha had earlier dubbed the Vyapam Scam as the 'biggest cover up story' and said that he would move the Supreme Court over the death of 42 accused and witnesses in the case.

The Vyapam Scam involved the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board, which holds exams for positions like medical officers, constables, teachers and auditors for government departments. Candidates allegedly bribed government officials to ensure that they made it to the list of those who cleared the test.
