Communist Party of India (CPI) leader D. Raja on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence over the Vyapam scam raises a lot of suspicion.
"The Prime Minister's silence over the issue raises a lot of suspicion. He is making a mockery out of the whole matter by keeping quite. There should be a CBI probe into the matter under the supervision of the Supreme Court," said Raja.
Earlier, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had said that he will request the High Court to order the CBI to conduct its inquiry into the Vyapam scam.
Chouhan also claimed that the Congress had indulged in baseless allegations against him and that their accusations were merely to spoil his reputation.
