Pakistan former pace spearhead and current coach Waqar Younis has backed out-of-form veteran batsman Younis Khan to return to form in the forthcoming World Cup despite the batsman's dip in form.

Younis scored only 73 runs in total in his previous six appearances since arriving in New Zealand last month.

Admitting that Younis would find his form soon, Waqar said that the pitches in Australia and New Zealand were challenging and initially batsmen struggle there but he was a senior batsman, adding that they needed him to get into the right kind of form soon, Sport24 reported.

Misbah-ul-Haq-led side has won both its warm-up games against Bangladesh and England respectively.

Pakistan will open their World Cup campaign against India on February 15 in Adelaide.

Pakistan will also play the West Indies, Zimbabwe, United Arab Emirates, South Africa and Ireland in Group B.
