Australian spin legend Shane Warne believes fear is what led to 'atrocious' England losing their World Cup opener to Australia on Saturday in Melbourne.
Warne allegedly used the word a dozen times on Saturday as he ripped into England during their embarrassing 111-run loss against Australia at the MCG.
Calling the game, the leg-spinning legend gave England his famous spray. Warne said that England feared Australia right from the word go and added that that's why they bowled first, referring to their skipper Eoin Morgan's strange decision to opt to field first on a good wicket, News.com.au reported.
Morgan's decision backfired, with Australia posting a mammoth total of 342-9.
Warne claimed that it was fear more than anything else, adding that England didn't want to face Mitchell Johnson.
Moreover, Aaron Finch's drop in the first over didn't help England's cause. The Australian opening batsman went on to make 135 off 128 balls, setting up the innings.

Warne claimed that he would have liked England to say that they should try and make 250/260 and keep wickets in hand.
The former spinner said that the problem England has is that they don't have any death bowlers, adding that their death bowling is just atrocious at the moment. He claimed that they've got to really work on their fielding and get their intensity up.
