Australian all-rounder Shane Watson fell prey to their feared 'commentators curse' during his side's seven wicket win in their Twenty20 clash against South Africa.

Australian spin legend Shane Warne had famously talked Fox Sports commentators through a wicket he was about to take during his stint with domestic side Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. But it seems Watson doesn't have quite the same luck when it comes to in-game commentary.

On Friday, Watson was on fire as Australia cruised towards victory in the second Twenty20 against South Africa at the MCG, blasting his way to 30 off just 18 balls, News.com.au reported.

At the start of the 11th over, a mic'd up Watson started having a chat with Warne, who was commentating during the match. Warne lavished praise on the all-rounder, complimenting Watson on the way he was hitting the ball against the South African bowlers.

It was even suggested to Watson that, with just 10 more runs needed for victory, he could finish the game off in two balls. Unfortunately from that point on the powerful all-rounder didn't score a run, and was dismissed off the fifth ball of the over, the report added.
