Australian legendary spinner Shane Warne has warned coach Darren Lehmann to refrain from interfering in the captain's on-field responsibilities.

Warne claimed that it was Lehmann and not stand-in skipper Steve Smith who called the controversial declaration during the Melbourne Test against India.

Reflecting on the controversial decision, Warne said that Lehmann got to be a little bit careful that he has got to stop walking out on the MCG and declaring, adding that he has got to remember that was the captain's job not the coach's job, News.com.au reported.

Backing Michael Clarke to return as team's skipper, Warne said that it was Clarke who taught them how to win, adding that Lehmann had come in and put a bit of icing on the cake, and had actually complemented Michael Clarke.
