Australian batsman David Warner has sent a powerful message to selectors with a blazing century for New South Wales after being overlooked for Australia's two most recent one-day series.

According to News.com.au, Warner smashed 138 from just 111 balls as NSW beat Victoria by seven wickets with 25 balls remaining in a Ryobi Cup match at North Sydney Oval on Sunday.

He hit 16 fours and five sixes, following up his 139 from 126 balls against Queensland at the same venue last Thursday, when NSW surprisingly lost, the report said.

The centuries follow scores of 4, 0 and 17 in earlier Ryobi Cup matches and a single figure grade cricket score, the report added.

Warner said that he had just backed himself, played his strokes and it was good to see the boys gelling together and playing so well.
