Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican claimed four wickets on his debut as West Indies bundled out Sri Lanka for 200 in their first innings on the opening day of the second Test at P Sara Oval on Thursday.
West Indies pace bowlers maintained a complete stranglehold over the top-order Sri Lankan batsmen before Warrican demonstrated his mettle by returning figures of 4-67.
Left-handed batsman Milinda Siriwardana was the top scorer for the hosts with 68. Meanwhile, Jason Holder and Jerome Taylor claimed two wickets each.
In reply, West Indies reached 17-1 before bad light brought a premature end to the day's play. The tourists lost Shai Hope for four when he was trapped lbw by Dhammika Prasad.
Kraigg Brathwaite (four) and night watchman Devendra Bishoo (five) will resume the innings tomorrow.
Sri Lanka are leading the two-match series 1-0 after winning the first Test by an innings and six runs.
