The SAS was reportedly involved in the murder of Princess Diana, and the British police are currently investigating the astounding new development in her death case.

The key information emerged at the second court martial of Sgt Danny Nightingale, who was charged for unlawfully possessing a gun and ammunition, the Mirror reported.

The claim was made in a letter, which was sent to the elite unit's commanding officer by the former parents-in-law of a Special Forces sniper, called Soldier N, who was Sgt Nightingale's former housemate and a key witness in the trial.

The note alleged that Solider N had claimed that the SAS was responsible for Princess Diana's death.

Scotland Yard said in a statement, that the Metropolitan Police Service is scoping information that has recently been received in relation to the deaths the Princess of Wales and Dodi Fayed and assessing its relevance and credibility.

The statement further read that the officers from the Specialist Crime and Operations command would carry out the assessment.

Dodi's father, Mohamed Fayed has always insisted that the 1997 car crash, which killed the duo and their driver, in Paris was a conspiracy involving the British state.
