United States (U.S.) Ryder Cup team captain Tom Watson despises the feeling of losing and wants to win golf's elite tournament at Gleneagles, as he is the last U.S. skipper to win on European, 21 years ago at the Belfry.

The Americans have suffered seven defeats in the last nine contests, but Watson wants to win the Ryder Cup all over again after captaining US to victory 21 years ago on European soil.

Watson, who has won eight majors, is 65 years old, and whose life in golf is by even elite standards complete, said that hating to lose is what taught him how to win, The BBC reported.

18 years older than his opposite number Paul McGinley, Watson is back in the bear-pit, back tearing afresh at the old itch, instead of calling it a day.

Watson added that all those failures, chokes, early in his career, he despised that feeling so much and didn't want to feel it anymore.
