Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said that the surgical strike at the Line of Control (LoC) which took place late night on Wednesday was a reply to the Uri attack and congratulated the Modi government and Indian Army for taking such a bold diplomatic step.

"The surgical strikes took place and terrorists were killed in retaliation to the Uri attacks, where 18 soldiers were killed and I congratulate the Army..The Prime Minister and the central government have taken this diplomatic step and I congratulate them for this decision," Kejriwal said

"It is the responsibility of the nation to be united and to support the central government and the Army," he added.

Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lt Gen Ranbir Singh earlier said that the Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on seven terrorist launch pads across the LoC, which was ready to carry out terrorist strikes in Jammu and Kashmir and various other metros in our country around midnight.

Lt Gen Singh said that the operation of the Indian Army was basically focused to ensure that the terrorists do not succeed in their design of infiltration and carry out destruction endangering the lives of citizens of the nation.

Lt Gen Singh further added that he spoke with the Pakistani DGMO and expressed New Delhi's concern and shared information over the operation conducted by the Indian Army.

Elucidating the involvement of Pakistan in the recent infiltration bids and terrorist strikes the DGMO said the captured terrorists have confessed that they were trained by the Asian neighbour.
