Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday said the party will be fielding a strong candidate from Varanasi constituency from where Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi is running for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"We are going to challenge the Varanasi seat, most certainly. We still have not decided on the candidate," said Gandhi while releasing the Congress Party's poll manifesto alongside Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and party vice president Rahul Gandhi.

Varanasi seat is going to witness a battle between the titans, with both Modi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal deciding to fight the polls from the seat.

Responding to a question regarding opinion polls predicting worst ever performance for the Congress in the coming elections, Gandhi said: "I don't have much faith in opinion polls because they have been proved wrong time and again. They got it wrong in the previous election also. The predicted that we will lose in 2004 and again in 2009. But it does not happen.
