Ex Formula One driver Mark Webber has said that crashing at the "correct angle" saved him from enduring a serious injury during a World Endurance Championship race.
The 38-year-old Australian had to spend the night in a local hospital after the crash. The accident took place during Sunday's Six Hours of Sao Paulo event, reported the BBC.
Webber, who quit F1 in 2013 tweeted, "I was a lucky boy" and thanked everyone for their "incredible support."
The race star was concussed by the accident and was "pretty bruised," his website said earlier.
Webber, who said he had no recollection of the incident, was racing for Porsche and is expected to participate in the series again next year.
