"Will I get to meet Elton John?" and "Is everybody friends with the Queen?" are just two of the many strange questions that people ask while applying for their visas, it has been revealed.

GlobalVisas.com, a visa application website, has compiled a list of the weirdest queries they receive from visa-hopefuls, Metro.co.uk reported.

The site's rep, Liam Parry, asserted that when somebody is moving from one culture to live in another there's bound to be an element of misunderstanding about laws and customs.

According to the list, an Aussie visa hopeful asked if he was required to have a criminal record to move to the country, while a man hoping to move to the US asked if it would be legal for him to marry his car there.

One person wanted to know if cocaine is legal in Columbia and another wondered if finding a wife in England is easier.

Another visa hopeful inquired if he would be allowed to live in Portugal if he sailed, not flew, to the country without a passport.
