A new global campaign has named the seven cities which are considered most incredible in the world.

Created by Swiss-born filmmaker and explorer Bernard Weber, the New7Wonders Cities have been named after hunt across the globe for years, News.com au reported.

When Weber had asked which seven wonders were the greatest, over 100 million votes were received back in 2007, which had included votes for the Taj Mahal and the Great Wall of China.

However, in 2011, he redid his search, changing the focus on natural wonders. Weber said that they had begun with more than 1200 nominees from 220 different countries and finally have the 7 cities that represented the global diversity of urban society.

The seven wondrous cities, which were cut down from a shortlist of 28 options, include:

1. Beirut, Lebanon

2. Doha, Qatar

3. Durban, South Africa

4. Havana, Cuba

5. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

6. La Paz, Bolivia
