Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has stepped up his interest in AC Milan's Mario Balotelli, saying he is will ing to fork out around 25 million pounds for the ace striker.
Wenger has been a long-term admirer of former Manchester City striker Balotelli, who scored the winning goal for Italy against England in their World Cup opener.
Milan is ready to offload Balotelli to ease their financial problems by getting him off the wage bill and to rake in a big transfer fee, and Arsenal has just provided them with an opportunity for the same, The Mirror reported.
Speculations are that Balotelli wants to return to the Premier League, and Arsenal has made signing a top-class striker one of their priorities for this summer.
The Italian fits Arsenal's bill well if the club can get him.
The Premier League side has also evinced interest in Queens Park Rangers' Loic Remy, who has a 10 million pound buy-out clause.
