A Trinamool Congress (TMC) worker on Saturday was allegedly shot dead in front of a polling booth in the Katwa municipality Ward no 14 of the Bardhaman district in West Bengal during the ongoing municipal corporation elections in the state.
The TMC has reportedly accused a Congress supporter for the murder.
The body has been sent to the Katwa subdivisional hospital for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, 16 crude bombs were recovered in Sonamukhi of Bankura district.
Security has been beefed up across the state as 91 civic bodies go to polls.
