West Ham United has defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 in their Capital One Cup clash at White Hart Lane on Wednesday, which was Tottenham's second successive home defeat.

The victory led West Ham to book a Capital One Cup semi-final tie with Manchester City.

According to the BBC, although Spurs took the lead in the second half following their player Emmanuel Adebayor's goal in the 67th minute, however, West Ham levelled with Matt Jarvis smashing home in the 80th minute, after which Modibo Maiga's late goal saw the visitors to a rousing victory.

The report mentioned that Spurs was left to contemplate another defeat soon after Sunday's 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool, which led to the sacking of manager Andre-Villas Boas, who has been replaced by Tim Sherwood until a new permanent manager is found.
